What should i do about my education horse future?

So i want to do something with horses. I plan on going to college and looking at majors towards horse riding etc (no specifics yet). I come from a poorer californian. I have little to no horse experience. The college i want to go to is out of state, I'd have to apply etc. then apply to the program. the program requires videos of riding certain ways etc. im going to be going to community college for probably 2 years in california. then im thinking about moving to that state, and taking a 1-2 year break to get a job, get a horse, take some riding classes. i KNOW i could get back into college- its just how bad would that look on me? but i have no riding experience and im starting to get nervous about my future because i was not blessed with a family ranch. i have no friends, family members, or anyone i know that has horses and would let me ride theres...can anyone please help me with this and give tips? thanks
