I want a good coyote and hog gun.?

I want to get me a true coyote and hog gun. I either want a ruger blackhawk in either .357 magnum or 44 magnum or a ruger gunsight scout (.308). Which do yall think would be better. My dad hasnt let me get a pistol yet but I do want one but I cant decide between a blackhawk or the scout. What would be better. Also, this will be a ranch gun.
