Improving my writing???

Hey guys!! Im 16 and currently trying to write a novel. Actually im editing to manuscript but i digress. My question is ive noticed im my writing i use "i" alot and alot of the same words. Are there any ways i can stop doing that so much? And any ways i can improvey writing?? Thanks
