She is half pit (the nicest pit you will EVER meet); not sure of her other half, or half, and after that...?

Well it definitely sounds like mange. Some people have seen good results by treating dogs with mange with baby wipes. just wipe her down with them all over her body. Or it could just be an allergic reaction. 50mg of benedryl per day will fix this if its just an allergic reaction. Pits have super sensitive skin so it could be either of these. Good luck!
